My name

My dear friends,
The word "jabulani" means "celebrate" or "rejoice" in Zulu.
Zulu is the language of the Zulu people, with about 10 million speakers, the vast majority (over 95%) of whom live in South Africa. Zulu is the most widely spoken home language in South Africa (24% of the population). It is also understood by more than half of the population. It became one of South Africa's 11 official languages in 1994.
I am glad I have this name - it shows the world really comes together when doing sports, as people celebrate football passionately all the time!

Jabulani Ball

I am an Adidas Jabulani ball. Quite a few of my brothers were the official balls at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
I was made in China and then travelled to Europe by plane! I enjoyed my flight very much! When children play football with me, I feel like flying again!

Who bought me?

In case you are wondering, these are the Portuguese students who bought me!

They are all great kids - and I can say this, I'm starting to know them!
I will try to remember how exactly I was born, and let you know soon!
Bye for now!

Hi everybody!

I am eTwinning Ball and this is the story of my adventures with quite a few eTwinners in the spring of 2011!
You may wonder why I decided to blog. Well, to be honest, sitting as I am now on a Portuguese teacher's desk at her home, I realise I can't wait to meet all the students involved in what I am told is one of the most amazing eTwinning projects ever - "Celebrating eTwinning Football Across Europe"!
So here I am, embarking on a journey that will take me, and you, and everybody else who is reading, throughout Europe, eager to meet the young football players and cheerleaders, their parents and teachers, their friends and supporters - I am even looking forward to meeting the referees!
Keep your fingers crossed for me, so that everything goes perfectly, and let your feet dance around me, my friends!
